PROTECTED STRUCTURES / HERITAGE WORKS

All County Councils have a list of properties that are protected structures. Works undertaken on these involve careful attention to ensure compliance with legislation requirements.

We have been involved in a number of projects throughout Kerry and Cork, where extensive works have been undertaken on protected structures, examples including:
  • No’s 5, 6, 7 & 8 Denny Street, Tralee – Conversion of an office facility to a college one with the introduction of a passenger lift.
  • No. 4 Denny Street, Tralee – Refurbishment works.
  • Lana Restaurant, Tralee – Refurbishment works.
  • Spit Jack Restaurant, Cork – Change of use with extensive refurbishment works.
  • Milk Lane, Tralee – Change of use with refurbishment works.
  • The Old Monastery, Port Road, Killarney – Maintenance works.
  • Rice House, Dingle – Material alteration works.

The experience we have in dealing with protected structures have developed over time and has given us a data base to work from when dealing with problems or issues that can arise while working on such structures.

This experience is invaluable when dealing with upgrading works to ensure a protected structure is suitably upgraded to be Fire Safety Compliant, as well as dealing with alterations or improvement works to the structure of such properties.
